In 2021, our philanthropic efforts to secure individual investment, government grants, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships and special event revenue totaled $2,203,000 in investment for the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette.
This level of community investment was made possible through YCARES our intentional and sustainable set of programs that assists our most vulnerable neighbors with access to essential services. YCARES consists of five impact areas that allow investors to direct their gifts to the outcomes that align most closely with their individual philanthropic goals. In 2021, the Five Impact Campaigns coupled with investment flowing to the Area of Greatest Need resulted in YMCA-CW securing more than double our published Philanthropic Goal of $1,000,000. Our purpose is to Strengthen the Foundations of Community and Save Lives. With your help in 2021 the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette provided:
- 440,000 nutritious meals to kids and families
- 1.2 Million hours of child care and distance learning support
- 5,336 youth with a day camp or overnight camp experience
- Two sessions of the Black Swimming Initiative in partnership with WaterStrong to teach safety around water skills
- Countless wellbeing checks to homebound seniors
- Hundreds of pints of blood to patients
